I adopted him pretty soon after Mitch and I started dating,... so he's about 8 years old. today I am doing absolutely nothing of consequence. Anime Expo and The Edison Anime Expo was surprisingly fun! Mostly because of the amazing friends I was hanging out with all day. :) Here's a few pictures from AX as well as the Steampunk gathering at The Edison. Happy 4th! I am proud and grateful to be an American. Seriously. Today is also my Japan Ai panel at ANIME EXPO at 4 PM in room LP 3. Immediately following the panel at 5 PM will be an autograph signing at GO!COMI's booth #211! However, today is also Friday, which means... tomorrow is Doctor Who Season-Finale-Day! 
Rose, Jack and the Doctor (or on DeviantArt) This was inspired by the awesome angsty fanfic, Sense... and the rest by me angsting over waiting for season finale. haha. I suck. still practicing getting good likenesses (since I don't do it that much.) I'm not happy yet, but it's good practice, huh? :) Mitch's comment was, "Guys don't kiss each other on the forehead." me, "Jack does! I <3 Jack!" Current Mood:  hopeful |

Love*Com and Wigs Time to squee about some costume stuff. 
Photoshoot of Lovely Complex from Jason is up! :) I love this shoot.  Cosworx has just got a bunch of new wig colors, stuff that normally you'd have to dye a wig or order overseas to get. Now we can get it here, easily. On top of that, they've now got real wefted extensions in all their colors. This may sound like a small thing, but it will make a HUGE time-saving difference for people who like to super-size their wigs. (like us). ( more about new wigs and extensions, with pictures ) |

Wanted in Fifteen Minutes Hey, because it was there and it called to me. It's just about the only way I can write these days--just letting it happen. Note: This is very much an R-rated movie, with the sex and the expletives and the shootings of people in the brain. The language in the recap, parody, whatever you want to call it, is going to reflect that (and trust me, this is the mild version). Also, Wanted is the kind of movie where half the charm of it is in the novelty of the visuals and some really funny surprises, so I'm... actually going to leave several good moments out. Believe me, there's plenty left over. Just--go see it. It's outrageous and stupid and funny and knows it, unlike some movies I could name COUGHTHEHAPPENINGCOUGH. I have a temporary break from Pink Panther 2 work that randomly coincided with Char coming into town! Kismet! So, Char and I went shopping in the LA garment district today (Santee Alley) < --- solid confetti-dot men's dress shirts. OH YES. I bought a solid blue one for nefarious purposes. Also got their business card, because you know I'm comin back to this place! Some other awesome finds (below) ( OSCAR and AJ I'm looking at you.)  Current Mood: cheerful |

Backup Strategy Ok, I think I finally decided on my backup strategy considering just how much data I generate in photos. ( Technical backup stuff ahoy! )Non Technical/Super Short version of the above
- Mac OS X's Time Machine for automatic back ups of your system. You can immediately recover your system if your main hard drive fails.
- Drobo for redundant hard drives. Unlike just using an external drive, if your drive fails, your files are gone. Using Drobo and multiple hard drives, one drive failing won't matter. The other drives will still have your data.
- Dreamhost / Mozy for a cheap way of storing your data online and off site.

Kitty photos - now with artistic blurry stuff!  I just got a new camera after lots of help from dtdgoomba, ziggybecket, kuronosho, and iamhappycat. (Canon Rebel XTi and 50mm f/1.8 lense if anyone is interested in knowing the specifics.) I still have NO idea what I'm doing, but I'm loving it already. It takes awesome photos of my kitties, especially poor Bobo, the gray-blob-wonder. So uh... expect lost of random photo spam in the coming weeks. And it will probably all be photos of my cats. ( A bunch of kitty photos ) |
